Updates and Notices
We have been contacted by Yorkshire Water who are currently looking to locate private sewage pumping stations for transfer to Yorkshire Water. Government legislation means that from 1st October 2016 all eligible private sewage pumping stations in Yorkshire will automatically transfer to the ownership and responsibility of Yorkshire Water. This is good news as it means that customers are no longer responsible for future maintenance and repair costs associated with the stations. The pumping stations included in the transfer will be owned by Yorkshire Water and looked after by a team of experienced operators. Yorkshire Water are starting a customer campaign this winter asking people to report their pumping stations to them by calling 0345 1 24 24 24 or for further information please visit yorkshirewater.com/pumpingstationtransfer.
If anyone is prepared to help with snow clearing if the need arises then please email the Parish Clerk expressing your interest, it would be helpful if we could have a bank of volunteers we can call upon if the weather takes a turn for the worse. Many thanks to anybody who can offer their time.
Repeated calls for urgent action and a comprehensive report by Catton Parish Council on the state of the roads in the Parish have finally gained a response. The ERYC are slowly, one by one, filling in the potholes. The work appears to be little more than a temporary measure but pressure will be kept up to ensure our Parish road network is safe once again.
Your observations on the state of our roads would be most welcome in ’Feedback’ to be found elsewhere on this website.
